The Sorceress and the Squid COVER REVEAL + RELEASE DATE + LAUNCH TEAM/BLOG TOUR SIGNUPS
The day has come, guys. The Sorceress and the Squid finally has its cover, and finally said cover will be revealed to the entire world! What an awfully exciting day! Or at least, I'm excited anyway, you should be too - you get to see some fantastic art and hear the special release date news, firsthand!
But firsttttt....a synopsis. Again. XD I'm sure you're sick to death of hearing it, but just in case someone new is lurking about, here it is:
And here is the Blog Tour application:
Thank you everyone for sharing in this journey with me, today my novel is also headed off to be properly formatted and that is a huge thing as well. I am so, so excited and I can't wait to see just how messy and wonderful this all gets. Thanks for sharing in the excitement with me!
nope, this is not the cover, just my aesthetic collage |
In the magical land of Perth, divisions between the Old Kingdom and the New have waged for centuries. The humans have long harbored a mistrust of the spell-casting Fae and vice versa. In the midst of this conflict, Estrella the Sorceress lays waste to the Training Academy for Human Warriors, making an enemy in the soldier, Jalen. During their standoff, Jalen is turned into a squid and Estrella, unable to restore him to his original form, takes pity on him and travels west across the Sea to bring him to the Wizard in hope he can be saved. But is there more to the unrest in Perth than meets the eye?
I'm sure this is all sounding quite strange to you, the story I mean, and I'll grant you, it's a weird one. But I do have faith that it will be thoroughly enjoyed by readers of all shapes and sizes - at least I sincerely hope so.
Now, for the reason you're here. The cover reveal.
Are you ready?
Great!
Here it is....
Isn't it beautiful?? I love the scene and the color scheme and it's so absolutely cool seeing a piece on my story in art. I love it! I hope you guys do too.
Credit for this beautiful work goes to Micah Jonsson, a fellow homeschooler/artist from my area. You can see more of his amazing talents on his deviantART page.
Now for the fun stuff. Announcements.
First of all, my new (hopefully more realistic) release date for TSatS is JUNE 18th 2017. Mark your calendars and be on the lookout! I have a crazy busy next couple months ahead of me but I'm determined to make this work, but I will need some help...
That's where the rest of these announcements come in. I have both Launch Team and Blog Tour applications for those who want to get involved with this crazy publishing journey. I am totally new to all this so you should follow along to watch me stumble awkwardly and violently through this whole process. At the very least it will be entertaining. ;)

Oh my goodness, I am so excited for you!! I signed up for aaaall the things ;) It's really happening! Are you excited?! This is going to be epic. And that cover is SO perfect <3 <3
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU SO MUCH!!! *squeals* I was really hoping you'd sign up. ;)
DeleteI'm so so excited, this is totally a "guinea pig" publication for me but I'm really looking forward to seeing where it goes and gleaning experience for next time.
I love it, I love the scene that the Micah chose to paint. The nighttime is beautiful.
Yes, it will definitely be a learning experience! But I think that will always be the case, and that doesn't mean you can't do baby #1 well :) I love the nighttime, too! I hadn't envisioned it that way, so it's super neat. :D
DeleteI'm new to the writing blogosphere and I've never done anything like this, but I'm willing to read your novel early! *clears throat* I mean, I'm willing to be an advanced reader and help by writing a review?
ReplyDelete(Also, in the form - section C - it said reviews should be released on launch day: June 4th. Is that the date? Sorry, a bit confused. ;) )
That's so great! Thank you!! I'm very excited to have you join it! :D
DeleteWhoops, no, sorry, that was the old date. The release is June 18th.
I'm that new person lurking ;)
ReplyDeleteOMW YOU'RE PUBLISHING YOUR BOOK. *squeals* *flails* Congratulations! I can't wait to see it published! :D

I love having new people lurking, welcome!
DeleteIt's so hard to believe actually, but YES! I am! I'm super excited. Thank you so much!
I'm so excited to see your book come out!!! I want to read it so bad but...erp don't know if I can get it. (parental issues. I'll leave it at that)
ReplyDeleteI did sign up for your blog tour though for the interview and I'm looking forward to supporting you. I mean it LOOKS SO COOL. And such an unusual idea, but that makes it all the more interesting.
ME TOO!! Ah, for the magical elements you mean? Totally get it, when I was younger my mom was strict about that too (still haven't read Harry Potter, lol). I aim as a writer of fantasy to be like Tolkien and CS Lewis, who were both professing men of faith AND fantasy authors, if that helps at all. If not, no worries, I totally get it. ;)
DeleteOh, thank you so so much for that!! I'm really in need of people for the blog tour, thank you! Your comments are so encouraging! :DD
ME TOO! I'm a Tolkien fanatic and Narnia is my obsession. But yeah, even though I'm almost 17 my mom isn't too inclined with any fiction unless its classics XD. That's Mom, She's different in that, I just try to respect what she wants. (even though I have definitely read other genres, the library is my second home)I've had wild fantasies of enlisting my friends and siblings to storm the librarians with requests for self published books like yours XDDD You probably understand I am quite crazy by now. :P
DeleteSURE, I am so happy to do it and support young writers. I mean you are SO INSPIRING. Just knowing there are people out there who are doing it makes it so inspiring to me :) You bet I'm going to be supporting you and storming you with more comments. <3
Ah yeah, I'm familiar with that too. I totally get it though. Hehe, I'm sure no self-published author would complain about that - and we would all appreciate said craziness! ;)
DeleteThat's so so sweet of you, thank you!! I agree, supporting young writers is so important.
