My Book is Out TODAY - Faithless Release
Guys. It's finally happening. Today is THE day. The coolest day in any writer's career - the day of the book release!
I'm so excited to be able to share Faithless with you guys, and so thankful for those who have supported and encouraged me and my writing these past few years. Releasing The Sorceress and the Squid as my debut was such an incredible experience, made so incredible by the response of my readers. I was so privileged to have you guys in my corner for my previous novel, and I'm so privileged to have you here today too. :DD
**Below you can find the gorgeous cover, the official synopsis, and links to purchase the novel or add it to Goodreads.
I started writing Faithless in late 2015 and have been working away at it ever since. It's crazy to know that today is the culmination of all that labor, of multiple revisions, of painful brainstorm, and hours of typing away at a story that took me to places I did not expect. The experience was savage, thought-provoking, and a little scary. I had to reach deep into parts of myself that are not usually on display for people to see or read, and thus, this book was a struggle.
The journey of the main character, Saagar, was intense for me. She is so fragile, so damaged, so shut down deep inside herself. Frankly, she is not a typical protagonist, verging on being even a little unlikable in many regards.
But I didn't write her to be likable. Honestly, part of me wonders if I even wrote her at all. It was almost like she wrote herself, coming alive to tell me the story of her life, and who she was, and, subsequently, who I am.
Saagar is a victim, a victim of horrible tragedies, of the cruelty of those around her, but also, she is a victim of herself.
It is a lesson I've been slow to learn in my life, and Saagar's story has helped me to understand this part of myself a little bit better. I did not write this book to be happy, or necessarily hopeful. I did not write it so people would get a warm, fuzzy feeling when they closed its final pages. There's nothing wrong with any of those things of course, it's just not what this book was for.
Faithless was an exploration of betrayal, of war, of relationships ruined beyond recognition, and of a woman's journey to overcome her own demons. Perhaps not in exactly the way you as a reader will expect, but I hope that in some way this book will resonate with you like it did with me.
Unfortunately, sometimes the things that resonate with us the most are the ugliest parts about ourselves.
I hope if you get the chance to read the book that you'll enjoy the suspense, the intrigue, the conflict, and the prose (not to be boastful, but I am especially proud of some passages in this story). I hope as well that it will cause you to think deeply about who you are, about who any of us really are deep down, and how we can overcome the darkest parts of ourselves.
Like I said at the beginning, this book was not easy to write, but I am immensely proud to have it in my hands, and to be sharing it with the world today. Thank you so much again for being a part of that process, big or small. It all means so much to me.

It's hard to forget the past that’s written over your body.
Katarian refugee and dignitary, Sagaar Remus, is reunited with her husband, Damien Sparr, a convicted war criminal in the Outer Reach whose coup destroyed her country, her home, and her family. After seven years of separation she meets him in his prison cell, aghast by the atrocities he has committed in the name of his people. With her husband facing the executioner's block and conspiracy swimming around her, Saagar must decide whether to place her trust in the dangerous hands of her allies or with the man who left her to burn. But thrown into a world of terror and intrigue, can she even trust herself?
WRITING THIS BOOK WAS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE (my thoughts about this book).
