June Highlights, Q+A and Hiatus Announcement

Mucho apologies for being a month late with this, guys. I am a horrible human.

*slides in sheepishly* Hey, guys. Yes, I have been like, dead, over the past month. It may have a little bit to do with general busyness and MUCH procrastination, but mostly it has to do with a lack of internet access and I'm going to be going with that as my main excuse, mmkay?

LIFE

MORE MOVING // We moved again.* We are currently living in a cabin out on camp property which is cozy, WiFi-less, and no less busy than anywhere we have lived previously. :P I probably won't be around much until the end of August, as it is most summers for me.

*honestly, i never want to move again guys, someone buy us a house and a private plane to take my husband to school

MORE GRADS // This month I did grad shoots for my beautiful cousin, Hayley, and my lovely barn friend, Shelby. I've really enjoyed the opportunity to photograph so many new faces and locations this spring. All the editing and driving and hot sun has been totally worth it.

MORE FARMING // Naturally. The beginning of the month there was still lots of seeding to be done and cattle to be sorted and processed and moved to summer pasture but - at least for me - all that is mostly done now (finally) and we get to move into summer at camp, far from the roar of tractor engines and the bellowing of cattle.

MORE HORSES // Between spending time with my own horses (which has been hardly at all), riding some of the horses at my barn, doing wrangler training Saturdays and working certain camp horses on weekdays, as well as being asked to work with other horses on the side, I have had my fill of horses this month. :P However, I would like to be able to spend more time with mine and get some jumping done so I can maybe do a jump show one of these days.

MORE CAMP // Since we've moved out here of course this is kind of a given. There have been rentals, wrangler training, working horses, horse dental visits, staff training weeks, and more. People keep asking me if I like how quiet it is out here and I have to laugh. I'm getting pretty excited for actual summer though.

FIRST LAKE DAY AND GOODBYE // In all the busyness I only just got out to the lake for the first time last week whereas I usually get my first swim in May. But this was a pretty good evening with some pretty awesome friends, so I am okay with it. I said good-bye to my siblings-in-law as they are off to work at a camp on the coast for the summer as well.

WRITING

Can we just tap out in this area until September because I am absolute trash and haven't written anything in literal months. Why am I such garbage? Probably because I'm busy garbage with a lazy streak who has been too burnt out to write much. Honestly, I'm not sure where I will start when fall rolls around. I've got a lot of possible projects and many WIPs that need my attention. I guess I will see what happens at summer's end?

READING

My reading has not suffered much though which is nice. I'm currently on book 3 of the Shades of Magic series by VE Schwab. I've finished A Darker Shade of Magic and A Gathering of Shadows, both of which were excellent and I'm just barreling through A Conjuring of Light (largely in part of the lack of internet). I definitely recommend this series if you are into fantasy at all. It has been very intriguing and I've got so many questions I'm just dying to have answered!

BLOGGING

Due to lack of internet (my tired excuse), I haven't been around the blogosphere much. And, due to the continued lack of internet and full future weeks at camp, I will continue to not be around much, if at all. Please enjoy not hearing from me for the next 2 months around here. XD

GOALS

Goals for June

  • Write 1000 words of The Snow Dragon - we needn't discuss how badly this did not happen. :P
  • Read 2 books - this, however, did.
  • Beta-read - and this, unfortunately, became very hard without internet. But I will try to do better through summer if I can.

Goals for July/August

  • Read 4 books
  • Have a freaking-fan-tastic summer and not worry about how bad of a writer I am.
I think I can manage that? Probably. I will probably still be worrying.

Well, that wraps up my month of June. It was crazy and busy and I'm kind of dying and overwhelmed but I know good things and awesome things are coming and I can't wait for that. Also, I know I'm VERY late for my Q+A video and celebrating my bookaversary (hard to do online without wifi) but here, at long last, is the video!   And the winner of my giveaway draw from question submissions is the lovely JENNIFER KING! Congratulations to Jennifer who submitted her great questions via Facebook!

With a busy July and August ahead of me, I will be signing off of the blogosphere for the next two months of summer. I hope to see you guys back here in September for some cool new content, updates on my projects, and more! Have an awesome, fun-filled summer everyone!
